Where are you on the camping to glamping to no doors/no windows/no thank you continuum? What is on the mind of would-be campers this summer?

With summer but inches away, ‘camping’ searches are spiking on Google. Some particularly hot topics:
• Easy camping dinners
• Foil dinners for camping
• Inflatable couch for camping
• Inflatable kayaks

For those searches that include ‘how to….while camping’, most popular were:
i.   Keep food cold
ii.  Keep tent clean
iii. Make coffee
iv. Use percolator
v.  Stay warm

.

And for ‘camping with…’ our searches on Google were most commonly:
i.   Kids
ii.  Lake
iii. Dogs
iv. Cabins
v.  Baby

.

While you’re out on the road, keep your eyes open for clues and mad-dashing competitors. Why? Because searches for ‘road trip scavenger hunt’ ballooned 120% in the past month.

In 2024, Scouts Canada polled 1,000 Canadians around all things camping. Some of their findings?

• 46% of the Canadian respondents would classify themselves as ‘good campers.’ Perhaps they can serve useful to the 4% who classify their outdoor vacationing skills as ‘dangerous – I am my own worst camping enemy.’

• Respondents are not too keen on giving up their amenities. ~10% would sacrifice coffee for two days, 7% would sacrifice Netflix for two weeks, and 6% would agree to foregoing their phone for two days.

• While 82% of respondents are ok with relieving themselves outside, 10% draw the line at outhouses. ‘No tree pee for me.’

• With which Canadian celebrity would these respondents like to share a campfire? Just Ken comes in at #1…
